It's using the same code that CK2 later implemented, but still allowed you to view the file regularly. Stellaris does allow you to look into the save file, but it's in gibberish. Unfortunately I don't have an answer for you: Crusader Kings 2 allowed you to directly edit the save game in order to change traits, find province IDs, etc. I just wanna know where in the files i can change the amount of traits for a custom empire, you're allowed 4 at the moment, i wanna change that, ive been looking and cant find it, hope its possible.

First i wrote a response thinking it might be an opinion modifer and not one stuck to the character, but looking in my save file it seems it is. Im not sure how you'd remove the merciless trait, you could always offset it with a boost to diplomacy or some positive traits, theyd be alot simpler to add. First I looked under the event modifiers folder and found the modifier name, still named 'merciless. So ive tried a few things to get rid of this. The opinion penalty is not worth it for a duel.
